Definition – Distracted driving can occur different ways. When you are not concentrating on driving your motor vehicle, accidents can occur. If you are distracted by others in the vehicle, talking/holding/texting on your cellular phone, reading, eating, watching television etc., while you are driving, can be classified as distracted driving. Especially when dealing with cellular phones, whether you are mobile or stopped in traffic, it is against the law to be using your phone, except using a hands-free device or calling 9-1-1. If you have stopped and moved out of traffic, in a safe place, you may use your phone, for regular purposes.
